Moss Haven Moms is a neighborhood networking group of more than 120 women, most of whom have infant, preschool and school-aged children.   The group primarily communicates via an online discussion list and at monthly get-togethers.  With new members joining each month, the leaders of the organization wanted to create an online membership directory where members could connect with each other.

Primary Goals for the Website

• Provide a secure, members' only area to include a member directory, an area to make recommendations and an event calendar where any member can submit area events of interest.
• Easy-to-maintain with low learning curve for non-technical administrators.
  

Solutions

The Internetworking Group designed and developed the site using the Joomla! open source (free) content management system.  The Joomla! interface allows non-technical users to enter content in a familiar, "what you see is what you get" (WYSIWYG) format. Included in the implementation were several Joomla! extensions that gave the Moss Haven Moms' organization the features that they wanted for their Website.
